Mangaluru: Future leaders unveiled at Mount Carmel Central School’s Investiture Ceremony

Mangaluru, Jun 16: The investiture ceremony of Mount Carmel Central School, Mangaluru, one of the most prestigious ceremonies in the schedule of the school events for the year 2024-25 was held on Saturday, June 15 at the school auditorium.

The newly appointed cabinet leaders along with the chief guest Deborah Locker, principal Sr Melissa and vice principal Sr Therese Teena made a ceremonial and colourful entry into the auditorium with the NCC cadets as escorts.

The programme began with a solemn prayer service to invoke the blessings of the divine on all, especially on the leaders. The dignitaries, the head girl and the head boy lit the lamp to get illuminated by the divine light as the choir sang ‘Asathoma Sadhgamaya’.

The students of grade 10 put up a spectacular welcome dance and awed others with their grace and energy.

The head girl Elsha Rose Lewis of grade XII welcomed the gathering and introduced the chief guest, Deborah Locker, while the head boy Harshith H Shetty of grade X welcomed the chief guest by presenting a flower sapling.

The new Cabinet for the year 2024–2025 was sworn in. The formal investiture was symbolically portrayed with the alma mater granting the responsibility of the school to the head girl and head boy. The principal then honoured them with a sash and a badge and administered the oath to them.

The alma mater then discharged the responsibility to the cabinet ministers, house leaders and club leaders and the head girl administered the oath to them and the leaders pledged to work sincerely for the growth of the school.

In her address, Deborah Locker advised the newly appointed Cabinet members and leaders to imbibe the value of perseverance, resilience and team work, so necessary to be a good leader. She congratulated the newly inducted cabinet and wished them good luck.

The principal Sr Melissa, in her speech, expressed her heartiest congratulations to the head girl, head boy and the other leaders. She encouraged them to work as a team and keep motivating each other to achieve the goals set for the welfare of the school and the students.

Head boy Harshith Shetty proposed a vote of thanks, while Dhyeya of grade X B and Pranav of grade X D anchored the programme ceremoniously.
