Bahrain: Kannada Sangha holds poojas, Yakshagana with grandeur

Bahrain, Jun 25: More than 800 people partook in the Sri Satnarayana Pooja, Sri Shani Pooja and Sri Shanishwara Mahatme Yakshagana organized by state award winning Kannada Sangha at the Kannada Bhavana auditorium.

Vedamurthy Krishna Adiga, temple priest of Sri Kshethra Kadri, who arrived specially from India, conducted the poojas. Various Bajana troupes of the Island nation did Bajan reciting.

Sri Shanishwara Mahatme Yakshagana was presented by the guest artistes who arrived from India and artistes of the association. The Yakshagana was directed by Natyaguru Deepak Rao Pejawara. Guest artistes Kadri Navneeth Shetty and Vijay Kumar Shetty Moilottu entertained the audience. Rosha S Kotian was the guest Bhagavath.

In the stage programme which was held later, priest Krishna Adiga Kadri, Kadri Navneeth Shetty, Vijaya Kumar Moilottu, Bhagavath Roshan S Kotian, main sponsor Karunakar Shetty Amparu and Manoj Alva were felicitated by president of the Sangha Amarnath Rai, vice president Mahesh Kumar and office bearers. Natya guru Deepak Rao was bestowed the title of Yakshadeepaka and felicitated. Naveen Shetty Rifah, one of the sponsors of Kannada Sangha was present on the dais. Responding to the honour Deepak Rao said that he is grateful for recognising his achievement in the field of Yakshagana.

President of the association Amarnath Rai said that cooperation of all members and Kannadigas of all religions living in Bahrain is important for Kannada Sangha. Anna Santarpane was done for all the attended at the end of the programme. It was sponsored by Subhashchandra, who was felicitated on the occasion.

Prasadam distribution and Anna santarpane was held after the pooja and reciting of sholkas and Mangalarati. Chief secretary Ramaprasad Ammenadka compered the event and rendered vote of thanks.
