Doha: Udupi Legends lift champion trophy of UPL season 1

Doha, Jun 27: The Udupi Legends lifted the champion trophy of Udupi Premier League season-1 after defeating Royal Qatar Team in a nail-biting final match.

Udupi Restaurant Qatar in association with Smart Cricketers Qatar conducted Udupi Premier League season-1 cricket tournament from June 19- 22. Karnataka based 10 cricket teams participated in the maiden tournament and spectators witnessed versatile cricket talents residing in Qatar.

The maiden tournament closing ceremony was held on June 23. Team Udupi Legends owned by Faisal G and Musthafa G and lead by Imran Shirva became the Champions of the tournament and Team Royal Qatar owned by Sheikh Mainuddin and led by Parvez lifted the Runners-up trophy.

Young talent Safan Pathan was awarded with final match Man of the match, Nizar Arekkal Man of the Series (Most Valuable Player), Abdul Rauf best batsman, Mohammad Rabeez best bowler, Farhan Shirva Best Fielder and Abdul Vaheed the Best Wicket Keeper.

On the occasion, UPL organizers went a step ahead and honoured the renowned cricket players Imran Koteshwara, Abdul Rauf, Imran shirva, Deekshit Alva, Parvez, Abdul Sathar, Suhel Billi, Abdul Salam Mohammad Sheikh and Mirza Khaleel with mementos for their dedication and contribution towards cricket in Qatar.

UPL organizers expressed their gratitude to all the supporters for the maiden tournament's success and vouched to conduct more events like this in the future.
