Mangalore: Community Wedding Held at St Jude’s Church, Pakshikere

Mangalore, Oct 28: A community wedding was held at St Jude’s parish, Pakshikere, here on Tuesday October 25. Two couples were united in sacrament of Matrimony in front of the priests and parishioners.

Fr Dennis Moras Prabhu, the Vicar Geral of Mangalore diocese was the main celebrant of the day. The choir was led by Fr Sunil Praveen Pinto. Fr Andrew D’Souza was the other celebrant.

Parishoners of the church had together contributed towards the community wedding. The chief guests of the occasion were Fr Denis Moras Prabhu,Vicar General of Mangalore Diocese, Abayachandra MLA.

The wedding reception was held in the parish hall. Family members, friends and relatives, parishioners and also other pilgrims were present. As many was 3500 people were present. A short felicitating programme was held to wish well to the newly married couples.

    Congratulations to the organisers. I wish there were more couples. Unfortunately some people think that community weddings are only for the poor. The well to do people should join this programme and be an example to others.
