Sullia: Girl from Town Dies in Accident at Maddur

Sullia, Oct 28: In an accident that occurred at H K Nagar on the outskirts of Maddur town in Mandya district on Thursday October 27 evening, a girl from the town lost her life. She has been identified as Meghana (12). The accident occurred when the car in which she was travelling overshot the road divider and hit another car moving on the other lane.

Sridhara Murthy from here, presently residing in M S Ramaiah Lay Out, Bangalore, had visited his town with family members for Deepavali. He was returning in a car with the family, when the driver lost control over the car when returning to Bangalore at Maddur.

Gayatri, mother of Meghana, her daughter, Manasa, and the driver, Nagaraju, suffered injuries. Mohammed Hamid, Shabana, Surairajuva and Zaheer, travelling in a car on the opposite direction, also sustained grave injuries. They are residents of Honganoor village in Channapatna taluk.

All the injured were treated in the government hospital in Maddur before shifting to Bangalore. A case was registered by Maddur traffic police in this regard.
