Mangalore: Religious Fervour Marks Annual Feast of St Jude Pilgrimage Shrine

Mangalore, Oct 29: The annual feast of St Jude parish and pilgrimage shrine, Pakshikere, was held with great religious fervor on Friday October 28.

Mumbai auxiliary Bishop Dr Percival Fernandes presided over the festal Holy Mass along with nearly 25 clergies at the pilgrimage shrine on Friday morning.

Mangalore St Jospeh’s Monastery superior Carmelite clergy Dr Pius D’Souza delivered the homily themed on ‘Let us live in the kingdom of God and let us proclaim that kingdom’.
Bishop Dr Percival Fernandes felicitated 80-year-old retired parish school head teacher Theresa Sequeira along with chief donors of the annual feast during the stage programme held after the Holy Mass.































Theresa Sequeira presented a cheque of Rs 1 lac to Fr Joseph Maris, rector of St Joseph’s Seminary, Jeppu, Mangalore, as benefactor’s burse for seminarians.

Nine-day novenas were held from Wednesday October 19 to Thursday October 27. Kinnigoli deanery vicar Fr Alfred Pinto conducted the first novena service.
Capuchin priest Fr Dolphy Serrao conducted a three-day retreat from Thursday October 20 to Saturday October 22.

The head-load offerings were held at the shrine on Sunday October 23.
Pakshikere former priest Fr Alban D’Souza presided over the Eucharistic celebrations on Confraternity Sunday.

Mangalore diocesan vicar Fr Denis Moras Prabhu was the main celebrant at the mass wedding ceremony held at the shrine on Wednesday October 26.

Fr Joseph Martis was the main celebrant during the vespers on Thursday October 27.
Pakshikere parish priest Fr Andrew Leo D’Souza thanked the parishioners, donors, and clergies who participated in the liturgical service.

The annual feast at the shrine concluded with the fellowship meal on Friday afternoon.

    Happy Feast to all the Parishinors.. I used to go to Paksikere every tuesday for the novena.. I love being there.The Peaceful atmosphere is very touching.

    Unfortunately i couldn make it to the Grand Feast, But when am in town, i make sure i down to Paksikere church every tuesday..
