Udupi: Congress to Organize Black Flag March against Rath Yatra

Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi (SP)

Udupi, Oct 29: District Congress spokesman, Krishnamurty Acharya, has ridiculed the RathYatra undertaken by BJP leader, L K Advani, as a gimmick aimed at satiating the leader’s egotism, and protecting corrupt persons. He claimed that the Congress, during its rule of over 65 years, had not got submerged in as widespread a corruption as BJP has, within a short period. “People from BJP, who have ruled for only a few months or years, have been going to jail because of their sheer size of their scams,” he remarked.

In the meanwhile, in a joint statement, labour wing president of the party, Murali A Shetty, youth Congress president, Yatish Karkera, and vice-president, Sunil Kappettu, said that the ‘Janachetana Yatra’ of Advani is in fact, should be termed as ‘protection to corrupt Yatra’. To protest against this programme, a black flag march is being held by the party at 3.30 pm on Sunday October 30. The march will start from Ambalapady, and end at the Gandhi statue at the service bus stand after passing through Jodukatte, Diana Circle and city bus stand. A public meeting will be held at the said statue, they said.
