Mangalore: 'Konkan TV' to be Launched on Nov 1

Mangalore, Oct 30: The inaugural ceremony of ‘Konkan TV’ and ‘Suvarta TV’ of DigitPro Solutions will be held on November 1 at 5:30 pm at Milagres Church Hall, Hampankatta.

Former vice-chancellor of Manipal University, Padma Bhushan Dr B M Hegde, president of Konkani Sanskriti Pratisttan, Basti Vaman Shenoy and president of Beary Sahitya Academy, M B Abdul Rahman will inaugurate ‘Konkan TV’.

Director of Namma Kudla Tulu Channel, Harish Karkera, will inaugurate the Tulu channel of ‘Konkan TV’. The Konkani channel will be inaugurated by the Gurkar of Mandd Sobhann, Eric Ozario. The Beary channel will be inaugurated by managing director of Vishwas Builders, Abdul Rauf Puttige. Fr Denis D’Sa, Administrator of Father Muller Medical College will preside over the function.

The Logo of ‘DigitPro’ will be released by Walter Nandalike, editor-in-chief of Daijiworld Media Pvt Ltd. The chief guests of the ceremony will be Rohan R Monteiro, managing director of Property Infra Tech Ind Pvt Ltd and Dolphy D'Souza, social worker.

‘Konkan TV’ is an internet based TV web portal. Thus, through the internet one can view its programmes all over the world. The various events in Mangalore, Udupi and the coastal regions will be broadcasted in various languages like Kannada, Tulu, Konkanni and Beary. One can watch local as well as national and international news channels. There is also a possibility to tune in to FM Radio, watch movies, documentaries, public as well as private celebrations such as marriage, birthdays, inaugurations, feasts, cultural events, etc.

Complete videos will be available on ‘Konkan TV’. The videos of cultural, academic and social functions of a local place will be preserved in ‘Konkan TV’. The rest of the videos will be available on the web for a year. Viewers have the option to watch the programmes according to their convenience. There will also be live telecasting of local events. People belonging to the coastal region but residing abroad will be able to watch live events on ‘Konkan TV’.

‘Suvarta TV’ will telecast the various Catholic events, especially related to religious celebrations such as Holy Mass, preaching, feasts, etc. Along with religious events, there is also facility to watch religious movies through ‘Suvarta TV’. The ‘Konkan TV Web Portal’ on the internet can be easily watched at a connection speed of 512bps – 1mbps, said Maurice D’Sa, director of DigitPro Solutions, at a press conference.
