Chikmaglur, Oct 30: The additional district and sessions court has ordered life imprisonment to four people belonging to same family on charges of committing a murder.
On July 2, 2006 the four accused – Shanmuka, Nagaraj, Dayanand and Paramesh and a woman named Renuka planned to murder Shivakumar and Tirtha Kumar by making them believe that they would settle down the issues related to drinking water in their village. For the purpose they called the two men to a place. When Shiva Kumar and Tirtha Kumar reached the place they attacked them with weapons and in the process Shiva Kumar lost his life and Tirtha was critically injured.
After thorough investigations of the matter by the police the crime was proved in the court and the culprits were imprisoned for life along with fine and other punishments.
