Puttur: Bus Plunges Into Ditch; Four Passengers Critically Injured

Puttur, Oct 31: Four passengers of a Bangalore- bound private bus were fatally injured in a ghastly road mishap on the Mangalore–Bangalore NH 75 at Bolyar, near Nekkilady, Uppinangady, in the wee hours of Sunday October 30.

The private bus plunged into a ditch beside the road when the driver lost control of the vehicle after hitting an electric pole and a tree.  Many of the passengers climbed onto the roof and managed to flee to safety, while a few passengers stayed trapped inside the bus. 

Police from Uppinangady arrived at the spot and with the help of locals managed to rescue four passengers – 45-year-old Parvati, 22-year-old Srinivas, 24-year-old Siddarth, and 20-year-old Raghu, who were trapped in the bus and were critically injured. They were later admitted to a private hospital in Mangalore.

Uppinangady police registered a case in this regard
