Bantwal: Sports Meet Organized at Our Lady of Loreto School

Bantwal, Nov 2: The old student and present student parents’ ‘Sports Meet’ was held at our lady of Loreto school grounds as a part of the centenary year.

The sports meet was inaugurated by Fr Joseph lobo, parish priest of Nidodi Church and accompanied by Fr John Lobo, both being the old students of the school. The stage programme was presided over by parish priest Fr Cyprian Pinto.

Albert D’Souza, one of the oldest students of the school inaugurated the renovated school ground by playing the traditional ‘Lagori’ game along with Pius Rodriguez, president of the present student parents’ and guardian association. Walter Noronha, the convener of the centenary celebration, Sr Leena, head mistress of Loretto Kannada Medium School, vice-president Joe Coelho and Cyprian D’Souza, secretary of Parish Council were present on the Dias.

Fr Joseph Lobo memorized his olden days spent in the school and thanked the organizers for inviting him for the occasion. Fr
Cyprian Pinto invited all the people to participate in the sports meet to enhance the joy of centenary celebrations.

Morning breakfast was served to all the people present on the occasion. Various games were organized for different age group people. Many old students above the age of 50 participated in some spot games like ‘Bombing the city’, ‘grouping game’. Musical Chair and lucky games were organized for the people above 25 years to 50years of age.

Afternoon lunch was served for all the people present for the sports meet. In the afternoon relay running race and sack race were conducted for the old students below 25 years of age. 

Kabaddi game was played between old students and parents of present students in which the parents of the present students won the game. Treasure hunt was conducted at the end for all the people resent and nearly 900 people actively participated in the entire programme.

During his tenure he has brought radical changes and excellent development of the church both physically and spiritually.     when everyone is engrossed with earning, learning and finally mourning in the super fast changing world, an excellent move to unite old and new, have fun and frolic, play games and entertain, laugh & stress out.
