Udupi: Grieving Woman Jumps into Well

Udupi, Nov 3: A 75-year-old woman, who was grieving the death her son due to cardiac arrest, committed suicide by jumping into a well.

Rukmini (75), grandmother of Kiran Kumar, resident of Garadimajalu in Kodavoor village near Malpe, ended her life in this fashion. She had recently visited a relative in Malpe Bailakere, but had not returned. After a protracted search, her body was found in a well belonging to Bailakere Khateeb.

In a complaint lodged in Malpe police station, it is claimed that Rukmini, who was unable to recover from the grief relating to the death of her son about 18 months back, chose to commit suicide because of her consternation.

    Mother's love triumphs!! So sad these days people lead lonely life, with no support from family and friends nor any organizations and in the bargain go for the easy way out - suicide. May her soul rest in peace.
