Kundapur, Nov 4: “The sustenance of Konkani culture that was fostered by generations of Konkans is possible if the new generation nurtures it for posterity,” said James D’Souza, director of Matov Mangalore.
He was speaking during the workshop on ‘Vovyo and Verse’, Konkani wedding folk singing, which was held at St Francis parish auditorium, Tallur, on Wednesday November 2.
Tallur parish priest Fr Sunil Veigas, in his inaugural address, said that these workshops are essential to sustain Konkani traditions and customs. Eric Pais and Hilda D’Souza were the resource persons.
Paul Pasanna welcomed the gathering. Felix D’Silva proposed the vote of thanks while Jyoti Mendonca compered the programme. Representatives of various parishes under Kundapur deanery participated in the workshop.
