Bhatkal, Nov 4: A peace meeting for the forth coming celebrations during Eid-ul-Azha (Bakrid) was held in the taluk recently.
Karwar district new SP spoke regarding peace keeping in the area. Additional SP addressing the gathering said he was happy that people here cooperate with the police in maintaining peace. Irrespective of religion all should celebrate Eid in harmony, he added.
President of Majlis-e-Islaho-Tanzim Kashimji Pervez said he hoped to celebrate Eid with peace and discipline as every occasion in the past.
Bhatkal TMC president Inayatullah Shahbandari, DYSP M Narayan , TMC chief officer CI Shivprakash, tahsildar Syed Hassan Brahmawar, MLA J D Naik, and others eminent persons also spoke regarding peace during Eid-ul-Azha.
More than 100 leaders of both Muslim and non-muslim communities were present.
