Sullia, Nov 5: A person died on the spot, while nine others suffered injuries, after a truck carrying equipments relating to drilling of borewell plunged into a roadside ditch at Anegundi Bend near here, on Friday November 4. The deceased has been identified as Devaraj from Chhattisgarh.
The deceased as well as the injured were traveling in the truck. The man who died lost his life as he got crushed under the vehicle. The injured were Tamil Nadu-based workers. Devaraj, Santosh, Dhanush Singh, and Hanif, were admitted into Puttur hospital. Ramaswamy, Suresh, Kumar, Perumal, and Harish, were treated at Sullia hospital as outpatients.
The policemen have registered a case. The truck was lifted from the ditch with tremendous effort.
