Udupi: Cow Decoration Contest Heralds Conclusion of ‘Deepavali’

Udupi, Nov 5: Under the aegis of Nadoor Kalrashi Friends, near here, competitions of decorated cows was held as part of ‘Deepavali’ celebrations on Friday November 4.
Teacher Sasidar Shetty Nanchar, who was the judge for the competitions, said that it’s everyone’s duty to preserve the contemporary tradition of worshipping cows.

The cattle feed that was donated by Mahesh Udupa Mandarti, proprietor of Laxmi Feeds, was distributed by Jalandar Shetty, president of Kalrashi Friends.

Cash prizes of Rs 1,500, Rs 1,000, and Rs 500 were distributed to the owner of the first three winners. Anapoo Nadoor compered the programme.
