Bangalore, Nov 5: The investigations into illegal mining got another boost with the CBI filing FIR against Associated Mining Company, owned by Aruna Lakshmi, wife of jailed former Karnataka tourism minister Janardhana Reddy, on Saturday November 5.

The CBI has filed FIR against 21 persons, it is learnt. The FIR has been filed before the designated court here.

The names of the accused have not been divulged.

This comes after the CBI filed an FIR against Obulapuram Mining Company owned by Reddy, last month.

Reddy and his brother-in-law OMC director Srinivas Reddy were arrested in early September by the CBI for their alleged role in illegal mining, and taken to Hyderabad where they have been lodged in a jail ever since.
