Mangalore: Damaged Tracks – Trains Delayed

Mangalore, Nov 7: Because of defect in the railway tracks, three trains which began their onward journeys from Mangalore Central railway station on Sunday November 6 were delayed.

The joining track at the intersection where it leads from one track to another got damaged when the shunting engine was bringing Mangalore-Kannur passenger train to the platform. Till the defect was corrected, trains leaving the station between 3.50 pm and 5.20, started off late.

The affected trains were Mangalore-Chennai super fast, Mangalore-Kannur passengers, and Mangalore-Thiruvananthapuram Maveli Express. The Chennai super fast left the station at 5.20 pm instead of 4.10, while Kannur passenger departed at 5.40 pm in place of 4.35. Maveli Express, which was to leave at 5.45 pm, was delayed by 25 minutes.
