Udupi: UPPA Special Photography Exhibition Begins

Udupi, Nov 8: "Photographers have to be abreast with the latest innovations. Photography exhibitions give them wide perspective to improve their professionalism. It works as an avenue to exhibit their talent," said Vasudev Rao, president, Udupi and South Kanara Photographers’ Association (SKPA).

He was speaking after inaugurating the two-day special photography exhibition organized jointly by Udupi Press Photographers’ Association (UPPA), SKPA, and Ajapura Karnataka Sangh, Brahmavar, at Government Model Higher Primary School, Brahmavar, on Monday November 7.

UPPA president Astro Mohan, in his chief guest’s address, said that photography is not just a profession, its an art. “Nowadays, people without computer knowledge are considered illiterates. In such a scenario, photographers have to learn and stay abreast with the latest technology to excel in their profession,” he added.

Ajapura Karnataka Sangh president M Laxman Ganiga presided over the programme.

Brahmavar zonal Photographers’ Association president A C Shekar and honorary president Damodar Shettigar were the guests of honour present on the occasion.

Pratik Kumar welcomed the gathering. K Krishnamurti proposed the vote of thanks while Prabhakar Nilavar compered the programme.
