Mangalore: Scooterist Loses Life in Accident

Mangalore, Nov 8: Ashok Poojary (45) from Elinje Patte village near Kinnigoli, died after the scooter he was riding hit a tipper near Damaskatte Church near Kinnigoli in the taluk on Monday November 7 evening.

The scooter was being driven towards Kinnigoli from Patte, whereas the tipper was moving towards Damaskatte, when the accident occurred. In the accident, Ashok’s hand got trapped under the tipper wheels. The tipper had to be moved aside before he could be taken to a hospital. He died before reaching the hospital.

Ashok was among the two sons of Elinje Patte the late Vasu Salian. He is survived by wife, a three-month-old son, mother, a brother, and four sisters.

Ramesh Kotian, a relative, who was riding on the pillion, was admitted into a private hospital in Mukka with grave injuries. He is a resident of Mattu village and operates an auto rickshaw in Mulky.
