Rs 64,900 crore Under-Recovery in 15 Days for Oil Marketing Firms


New Delhi, Nov 16 (IANS): The government-run oil marketing companies suffered a loss of Rs.64,900 crore as under-recoveries during the first 15 days of this month due to selling diesel, kerosene and domestic liquefied petroleum gas on subsidised rates, official data showed Wednesday.

The companies suffered the maximum under-recovery of Rs.37,719 crore on sale of diesel.

According to data released by the ministry of petroleum and natural gas, the oil marketing companies suffered under-recovery of Rs.10.17 per litre on sale of diesel.

The companies suffered a loss of Rs.25.66 on sale of each litre of kerosene oil and Rs.260.5 on sale of each cylinder of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) for domestic use.

Total under-recovery on sale of kerosene oil during the first fortnight of November was Rs.13,361 crore while under-recovery on sale of domestic LPG was Rs.13,820 crore.
