Moodbidri: Cleaner Dies on First Day in New Tipper

Moodbidri, Nov 23: First day of his job in a new tipper truck proved unlucky for Karim (21), son of Isubu from Peradi. He died after the tipper for which he was working as cleaner, tumbled down from the road into a ditch.

The accident occurred at Marigudi in the town on Tuesday November 22 evening. Karim had joined as cleaner in the tipper that was bought on Monday by Nityanand, a local. The tipper was carrying crushed stones from the town to Bykamkpady, when the driver, who was trying to avoid a pot hole, lost control over the vehicle near Marigudi. The cleaner, who got tossed out of the tipper, died on the spot. The driver escaped with minor injuries.

A complaint about the accident was registered in the local police station.
