Mangalore, Nov 24:  On the third day of hearing in the case relating to the murder of Anita from Barimar, Bantwal taluk, in which Mohan Kumar alias Cyanide Mohan has been named as the main accused, the policemen produced cyanide, rubber stamp, mobile phone set, and several visiting cards recovered from Mohan’s house, as well as gold chain Mohan allegedly pawned at Muthoot Finance in Tokkottu near here, in the court on Wednesday November 23.

Abdul Salam, one of the witnesses, who owns S A Fancy and Gifts Centre at B C Road, confirmed that the Karimani made of fake gold, which was recovered from Mohan Kumar  by the police, had been bought from his shop by Mohan Kumar on June 17, 2009. Pravin Kumar, manager of Muthoot Finance, Tokkottu, identified Mohan as the person who pledged gold chain on October 24, 2009, and availed of a loan of Rs 21,000 against it. He said Mohan used to frequently come to the finance office to pledge jewellery and clear off loans within a few days thereafter. He said records including name and address of Mohan, his photo in computer, and other records about these transactions are available in his office.

Another witness, Madhav Bagambila, confirmed that during his role as witness for inquest conducted by the policemen on October 22, 2009, he had visited Mohan’s home in Barike near Madaka, during which, ten different seizes of cyanide tablets were found.
