Beltangady: Building Under Construction Crashes – One Dies

Beltangady, Nov 25: In an incident that occurred at Naravin near Venoor in the taluk on Thursday November 24, a person died and two others seriously injured, after portion of a building under construction crashed on them.

Works relating to construction of dining hall of Naravi Lord Sooryanarayana Temple are progressing at brisk pace. On Thursday, a portion of the building crashed, as a result of which Kadya Moolya (51), resident of Mogeradka in Edu, died on the spot. Sundar Achary Edu and Arasakatte Chandrayyachary, who were also nearby, suffered critical injuries. They were admitted into a private hospital in karkalla.

Policemen of Venoor station have registered a case, and begun investigation.

There was agonizing delay in admitting the injured into the hospital, as no vehicles were available immediately. The government’s ‘108 ambulance service’ failed to respond to the urgency of the situation.
