Mangalore, Nov 26: Light drizzle was experienced in several places on Karnataka coast including the city on the night of Friday November 25, and Saturday morning. The climate has been cloudy since the last two to three days. The cyclonic depression, which is isolated about 1,800 km to the northwest of the city, has already caused rains in some places.

The cyclonic storm is expected to move to the north and then towards Gulf of Eden in the west during the next two days. Some parts of Karnataka coast may receive rains during this period. Northern interior Karnataka will continue to be in the grip of cold wave, the meteorological department predicted.

On Thursday night, strong wind inflicted heavy losses in Amasebail, Jaddinagadde, Hosangady and Madamakki areas at the foot of the Western Ghats in Kundapur taluk of Udupi district. Hundreds of trees in forest area fell to the ground. A tree fell on a house, damaging it partially. The storm, which blew since Thursday midnight till Friday afternoon, disrupted normal life and created problems for various programmes slated for the day.
