Mangalore: Bharathi School, Ullal Wins Yenepoya 'Champ Yen' Trophy

Mangalore, Nov 28: The 'Champ Yen' Trophy soccer tournament organized by Yenepoya School concluded here on Sunday November 27.

Bharathi English Medium School, Ullal bagged the championship by defeating Rosario High School in the finals.  Joyland High School bagged the third place by defeating the host Yenepoya School.

Dakshina Kannada District Football Association chairman D M Aslam was the chief guest for the concluding ceremony. Aslam commended the effort of the school in providing the students the opportunity to play in Yenepoya University Soccer Grounds.

He said the Association is ready to provide all the support in any future endeavours of the school, in order to promote the game of football among students.
Yenepoya Group director Y Abdulla Javeed presided the programme and thanked the participating schools. Eight high schools from Dakshina Kannada participated in the championship football tournament.

The tournament was inaugurated by international athlete and Rajyotsav Award winner Shreema Priyadarshini here on Friday November 25.

Yenepoya Univesity director P C M Kunhi, state level hockey player P C Somaiah, Yenepoya School manging director Farhad Yenepoya, Yenepoya University physical director K G Haneefa, football coach Bibi Thomas were present on the occasion.
