Bantwal, Nov 29: “Legal awareness in everyday living helps one to live harmoniously in the society. Law abiding citizens bring respect to the country,” said JMFC judge and taluk legal services committee secretary Srinivas.

Judge Srinivas was speaking after inaugurating the legal awareness campaign and mobile Lok Adalat programme held at Kasaba gram panchayat auditorium, Vittal, near here, on Sunday November 27. It was held under the joint aegis of taluk legal services committee, taluk Bar Association, revenue department, taluk panchayat, Vittal gram panchayat, and Bantwal circle police station.

“The legal services authority has been extending legal help to the poor and oppressed in the society. This has to be used for betterment of family rather than to cause disharmony in other’s families,” cautioned judge Srinivas.

Vittal gram panchayat president Ramanath Vittal presided over the programme.
Taluk Bar Association president K Ramachandra Bhat said that legal awareness lets one live free of troubles.

JMFC additional judge Nagaraj S Ankasadoddi and Vittal assistant sub-inspector Ramesh Gowda were the chief guests on the occasion.

Resource person city lawyer Prakash Narayan Jeddy spoke on legalization of land encroachment and taluk panchayat expansion officer Ganapati Mucchinnaya spoke on National Rural Employment Guarantee Project.

Vittal gram panchayat development officer Navin B N compered the programme.

The legal awareness campaign that was embarked from Mani on Saturday November 25 covered Sajipamuda, Kurnad, Rayee, Chenneittody, and Pudu gram panchayats to educate the rural masses on the objectives of the Legal Awareness Authority.

The campaign arrived at Vittal gram panchayat on Sunday evening. The organizers stated that the campaign will conclude at Kepu gram panchayat.
