Mangalore: Koti Namarchane at Gopalakrishna Temple – Preliminary Meeting

Mangalore, Nov 29: A preparatory meeting to discuss various issues relating to the ‘Koti Namarchane’ programme scheduled to be organized from April 20 to 29, 2012 at Sri Gopalakrishna Temple in Shaktinagar here, was held at Sumanasa auditorium of the temple on Sunday November 27.  The meeting was attended by a large number of leaders, scholars, dignitaries, representatives of temples, and temple trustees.

At the meeting, ‘Koti Namarchane Samiti’ was formed. Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari, Dr D Veerendra Heggade, will be the honorary president of the committee, while Vinay Hegde will be the president, and K C Naik, managing trustee of the temple, will be working president. Erya Laxminarayan Alva, Dr Prabhakar Bhat Kalladka, minister, Krishna Palemar, MP, Nalin Kumar Kateel, Karnataka assembly deputy speaker, N Yogish Bhat, Vidwan Panja Bhaskar Bhat, and Sharavu Raghavendra Shatri, were chosen as honorary advisers of the committee. Prof M B Puranik and Dr P Anantakrishna Bhat will be the conveners of the committee, while Krishna Kumar will be the general secretary. Satyanarayan Batrakody was chosen as the joint secretary, and Sanjit Naik as treasurer.



Various sub-committees with conveners, joint conveners, and members, were also formed on this occasion.  At the programme, Dr Prabhakar Bhat Kalladka distributed Tulsi plants and seeds provided by Satish Nayak. Former mayor, Rajani Dugganna, received the same on behalf of women members.

K C Naik welcomed the gathering. Prof M B Puranik delivered introductory address. Vidwan Panja Bhaskar Bhat, Dr Prabhakar Bhat Kalladka, Erya Laxminarayana Alva and Dr Vaman Shenoy addressed the gathering. Dr P Anantakrishna Bhat oversaw the task of committee formation. Satyanarayana Bhat rendered prayer and presented the programme. Krishna Kumar, administrative officer of the temple, proposed vote of thanks.
