Udupi: Housemaid Commits Suicide

Udupi, Nov 30: A 15-year-old girl working as housemaid for a family in the town, committed suicide on Monday November 29. She has been identified as Saroja (15), daughter of Ganapati Naik, from Murdeshwar in Uttara Kannada district.

Saroja was working as a housemaid in a house located in Ajjarkad here. Reportedly, the family members had gone out of the house, when she used the veil of her Churidar to hang herself from a ceiling fan.

Reasons for this drastic step are not known. A case was registered in town police station here, and investigation has been taken up.
