Puttur: Two Consume Poison at Railway Station, Man Dies

Puttur, Dec 1: Sudha (28), wife of Krishnamurty from Tumkur, and Mahesh Babu (24), nephew of  Krishnamurty, consumed poison at Nettana railway station in the taluk. While Mahesh died later, Sudha is recovering in a hospital.

It is said that Sudha used to be friendly with Mahesh Babu, son of Krishnamurty’s elder brother. Angered at their closeness, Krishnamurty, it is learnt, drove his wife out of his home. After this, Mahesh and Sudha left home. It is gathered that both of them arrived in Nettana together on Tuesday by a train from Bangalore.

The locals saw them lying on the floor at the railway station after consuming poison. They took them to Kadaba community hospital where first aid was administered. The two were thereafter, admitted into the government hospital in Puttur, where Mahesh Babu died. Sudha, mother of two, has shown good recovery.

A case was registered in Kadaba police station. Investigation has been taken up.
