Mangalore, Dec 1: Mahatma Gandhi Centenary (MGC) Memorial composite PUC-High School at Bondel celebrated its annual Day on Wednesday November 30.

Education officer for Mangalore City Circle Dayavathi in her presidential address observed that parents pamper their children by being generous in loading them with material things and comforts. What they should give, instead, is love and affection by spend quality time with their school-going children and be alert and see that they do not fall into bad company or get into addictions like alcohol and drugs.
 
Bondel Parish Priest Fr Andrew D’Souza, superior general of Ursulines of Immaculate Mary Order Sr Elvira and assistant superior general Sr Berkmens were the Chief Guests.

Local corporator Bharathi Dinesh, Medical officer of the school Dr Bharat Kumar, Corporator of Krisnanagar Harinath and vice president of Bondel Parish Pastoral Council Rudolph Pinto were guests of honour.
 
Principal Sr Matilda presented the annual report. Scores of students were presented awards for excellence in academics and sports.

The programme comprised colourful and vibrant dance and song items and an impressive march-past and PT display to the accompaniment of the school brass band under the baton of Divakar Hegde. The composite school is managed by nuns of the Order of Ursulines of Immaculate Mary and has strength of nearly 1500 students.
