Kasargod: Fisherman Drowns, Nine Others Rescued

Kasargod, Dec 3: A fisherman lost his life early on Saturday December 3 morning at Kiriyur here, when his boat was struck by a strong wave while fishing.

The deceased has been identified as Dasan (45) of Kiriyur Kadappur. The incident took place at around 4 am, when a huge wave threw him off the boat.

Nine other fishermen who were with him were rescued.

Dasan was immediately rushed to Kasargod hospital, but was pronounced brought dead.

Dasan was the son of Kundaran and Bharti. He is survived by wife Prema, children Saritha and Sanoj and siblings Soman and Chandravathi.
