Kasargod, Dec 5: The decennial celebration of Christ the King Youth Movement (CKYM), Kayyar parish, was held on Sunday December 4.

Fr John Walter Mendonca, parish priest of Pius Nagar, celebrated Thanksgiving Holy Mass at 4.00 pm on Sunday.

Fr  Vincent D'Souza presided over the stage programme held at 6.00 pm on Sunday.

Mangalore diocesan ICYM director Fr Anil D’Souza and city lawyer Ivan D’Souza were the chief guests.Manjeshwar MLA Abdul Razak,  Manjeshwar block panchayat members and Baby Shetty, Paivalike gram panchayat president Manikanta Rai, Paivalike gram panchayat members Prasad Rai and Theresa Monteiro, were the guests of honour on the occasion.

George Crasta and Vincent D'Souza introduced the guests.  Kayyar Church's parish priest and CYM director Fr Anil Alfred D'Souza welcomed. Praveen Prakash proposed the vote of thanks. Jeevan D'Souza and Shonal Machado compered the programme.

Kayyar parish council president Praveen Crasta and secretary Stephen Crasta were also present. The members of CKYM staged a cultural extravaganza as part of the entertainment programme. ‘Buddi Budaye’ Tulu play was staged by Namma Kalavider, Moodbidri.

On the occasion, the people's representatives MLA P B Abdul Razak, Manikanta Rai, Theresa Monteiro, Baby Shetty, Prasad Rai and the KCYM presidents and secretaries who served for the past 10 years were  felicitated.

To mark the decennial year Fr John Walter Mendonca released a memorial edition 'Yuvaray'. Speaking on the occasion MLA P B Abdul Razak  said that a sum of 1.5 crore would be alloted for the developmental works of Parambala-Kayyar Church-Jodukallu road and the repair works would be completed at the earliest.
