Bhatkal, Dec 6: A man travelling by the Mangalore-Mumbai Matsyagandha express was critically injured when he fell off the moving train near Shirur bridge here on Monday December 5 evening.

The man, between 30-35 years, was spotted by locals who shifted him to Bhatkal government hospital.

He was not in a position to speak, but from incoherent attempts to identify himself, it is gathered that his name may be Fernandes and he may have been from Maharashtra.

The man had no identity card and no money either. All that was found on him was a mobile pouch and a wrist watch.
