Moodbidri: Corpus Christi Church marks the feast of Saint Cecilia

Media Release

Moodbidri, Nov 17: Corpus Christi Church marked the feast of Saint Cecilia, the patron saint of musicians and singers, with great devotion during the Holy Eucharistic Mass. The celebration began with the recitation of the Holy Rosary setting a spiritual tone for the day.

The church choir, honouring their patron, played a pivotal role in the liturgy, conducting it with grace and harmony, embodying the essence of St Cecilia, who is revered for the power of music to praise God and bring solace to those in need.

Fr Onil D’Souza celebrated the Holy Eucharist and delivered an inspiring homily. He emphasized the importance of seeking God’s presence through acts of forgiveness and humility. Fr Onil highlighted the life of St Margaret of Scotland, drawing parallels to her devotion, acts of charity, and commitment to Christian values despite her royal status. He encouraged the faithful to emulate the virtues of saints to become part of God’s chosen people.

The celebration served as a reminder of the profound role music plays in worship and the power of saintly examples to inspire a Christian life. Choir members and parishioners left the church uplifted, inspired to strengthen their faith and use their talents to glorify God.
