Bantwal, Nov 18: The BJP's membership drive in Karnataka has been extended, with leaders urging party workers in Bantwal to step up efforts to meet ambitious membership targets.
Speaking at a workshop on Monday at the Sparsha Kalamandira, Vikas Puttur, the district co-incharge for the BJP's organisational campaign, emphasised the importance of hard work and commitment to achieving the constituency's goals of 50,000 total members and 750 active members.
While Bantwal had initially led the district in membership numbers, it has now slipped to third place. Puttur expressed confidence that with focused effort, the constituency could reclaim its top position. He stressed that workers should focus on forming booth-level committees by November 30 and reactivating dormant members to strengthen the party base.
The workshop also highlighted the critical role of engaging new voters and preparing for upcoming elections. "Booth-level committees are key to winning future elections," Puttur said, urging workers to take charge of voter registration and get involved in the party’s grassroots activities.
Bantwal MLA Rajesh Naik Ullipadi inaugurated the workshop, while BJP Bantwal Mandal president Chennappa Kotyan announced that membership drives would continue after the upcoming by-election on November 23. Kotyan urged workers to intensify efforts in the upcoming by-elections for vacant municipal and panchayat seats, stressing that with dedication, BJP could win all the seats.
Rajesh Kaveri, the district election officer for the organisational campaign, also addressed the gathering, calling for the active membership campaign to be completed across the district by November 30.
The event concluded with the announcement of the Bantwal constituency's list of collaborators for the organisational campaign. Senior leaders, including party office-bearers and morcha heads, were present at the workshop.
The Bantwal BJP is gearing up for a series of key elections, including cooperative society and panchayat polls, with workers urged to stay prepared and committed to the party's goals.
