Mangalore, Dec 19: Karavali Bellimandala D K Mangalore, in association with Bharathiya Vidyabhavana, Mangalore, and St Agnes College, Mangalore, organized a day-long camp on film appreciation for about 40 students at Agnesium Museum in St Agnes College on Sunday December 18.
Mayor Praveen inaugurated the camp by lighting a lamp. He also that this kind of camp focusing on films should be held across the city to increase people’s awareness.
Richard Rego, department of mass communication, speaking on the occasion, said that cinema is an effective media and not meant merely for entertainment. “Movies give the message for life and knowledge to achieve success,” he added.
Abdul Rehman Pasha, authorized trainer of the camp, speaking on the occasion, said that the quality of recently released movies has gone down as various matters have been mixed up and the essence of the movie is not clear sometimes making the movie worthless.
Sr Prem D’Souza, principal, St Agnes College, presided. Dr S M Shivaprakash welcomed. Prof H Jayanth and U Prakash Shenoy were present.
