Mangalore: Pompeii PU College Celebrates Annual Day

Mangalore, Dec 24: Pompeii PU College celebrated its annual day at the school auditorium in Kinnigoli here recently.

Chief guests and alumni of the college Denis Rodrigues, who is also general manager and principal of Canara Bank’s Staff Training College, Bangalore and associate professor at St Philomena College, Puttur Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro were honoured at the occasion.

Denis Rodrigues advised students to have dreams, which will help to achieve their target in the life.

He said that effort and support are the main factors which help students to achieve their goals.

Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro stressed on the bond between students and their teachers he urged students to keep a cordial relationship with teachers and institution.

In his presidential speech Fr Paul Pinto congratulated the institution for the academic excellence and said that the responsibility of the parents is not only to spend money on their children’s education but it is more important to enquire about children’s educational progress in the school at regular intervals.

Scholarships sponsored by alumni were presented to the successful students at the occasion.

President of Pompeii Alumni Association Y Yogish Rao and vice president of Kirem Church Robert Rodrigues were on the dais.

Senior assistant of high school section Emiliana Sequeira welcomed the gathering and principal of the college Fr Jerome D'souza presented the annual report.

Sitaram Bhatt compered the programme. An entertainment programme enthralled audience after the stage programmes by high school, PU and Alumni Association members.
