Mangaluru, Dec 23: St Agnes School (CBSE) radiated the resplendent spirit of Christmas as the school hall transformed into a vibrant haven of joy and festivity on December 23. The celebration, a heartfelt tribute to the virtues of love, harmony, and hope, brought together students, staff, and dignitaries in a vivid expression of the season’s true essence.

The day began with a special Christmas programme honouring the school drivers for their invaluable service. A solemn prayer service set the tone, invoking blessings of peace and joy. This was followed by an enchanting prayer dance by the talented grade 2 students, whose graceful movements embodied the spirit of the season.

A memorable highlight was the welcome address delivered by Venessa, extending a warm and heartfelt welcome to the esteemed chief guest. Floral tributes were presented to dignitaries including Sr Maria Sarika AC, Prasad Adappa, Sanjana Adappa, and Liston Derric D'Souza, in recognition of their steadfast support. The Accolades team, co-curricular teachers, and staff were also celebrated for their contributions to student development and the success of the event.

Adding a touch of vibrant energy, grade 2 students presented a lively action song, spreading smiles and captivating the audience. A harmonious Christmas song further enhanced the festive spirit, while the tableau a poignant dance-drama depicting the Christmas story captivated hearts with its portrayal of love, hope, and unity.

In the spirit of giving, students generously extended their compassion to organizations such as Ave Maria Palliative Care in Vamanjoor, Veronica Vihar, Bala Yeshu Nilaya, and Inchara Foundation. They visited differently-abled children and cancer patients, singing carols and spreading joy. These acts of kindness illuminated countless lives, embodying the true meaning of Christmas and reinforcing values of empathy and humanity.

Grade 10 students added a magical dimension to the event with their soulful rendition of Christmas carols, creating an enchanting festive atmosphere. Chief guest Sr Maria Sarika AC delivered an inspiring address, emphasizing the transformative power of compassion, sharing, and simple acts of kindness. Her message left a profound impact on the audience, encouraging all to embrace the deeper values of the season.

The celebration concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Shwetha, expressing gratitude to everyone whose efforts contributed to the event’s success. The closing remarks encapsulated the essence of Christmas, wishing peace, joy, and prosperity to all.

The event was further elevated by the presence of dignitaries, including chief guest Sr Maria Sarika AC, Prasad Adappa, Sanjana Adappa, PTA vice president Liston D’Souza, and the co-curricular team: band master Vijay Olivera, karate instructors Nisha and Ashok M C, zumba instructor Namratha, folk dance instructor Dhanraj, classical dance instructor Madhura, keyboard instructors Simon Pais and Matilda, technical staff Santhosh, football coach Kasim, and Lizel and his team.

Additionally, a delightful Christmas gathering for teachers featured festive sweets, spreading warmth and camaraderie throughout the holiday season.
