Bantwal, Jan 13: Bantwal MLA Rajesh Naik has vowed to resolve the pressing issues faced by the Koraga community, including land rights and basic amenities, through direct intervention.
Speaking at a meeting on Sunday, January 12 at the Bantwal Taluk Panchayat Hall, Naik assured that he would meet with officials to fast-track solutions.
Koraga community leader K Putran highlighted several urgent concerns, including the need to allocate one-third of the 25% reserved funds for Scheduled Castes in Grama Panchayats to address the community’s infrastructure needs. He also called for land titles and property documents for families facing land scarcity.
Putran further urged the creation of a Koraga community building within municipal limits and advocated for a shift from low-cost housing to terrace houses. He emphasized that the lack of land ownership is depriving the community of critical benefits, including employment opportunities.
Naik responded promptly, assuring the community, “If you approach me directly, I will ensure timely resolution of your problems. Avoid middlemen, and come to my office for real solutions.” He also urged community leaders to help families fully utilize government schemes.
The meeting was attended by Bantwal Taluk Panchayat executive officer Sachin Kumar, who welcomed the attendees, and social welfare officer Jayashree, who proposed the vote of thanks.
