Mangaluru: Srinivas Institute of Technology organizes programme on Energy Conservation Day

Mangaluru, Jan 21: The department of electrical and electronics engineering organized a programme on the occasion of Energy Conservation Day in association with the Bureau of Energy Efficiency and Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Limited on January 17.

The programme was presided over by Dr Shrinivasa Mayya D, principal of Srinivas Institute of Technology. The chief guest was Dr Suryanarayana K, head of the department of physics, SIT. The president of the function emphasized the need to save energy in the present scenario and stressed the importance of raising awareness among students regarding energy conservation.

Prof Harshith K welcomed the gathering, while Prof Shree Rama P R introduced the chief guest. Prof Lokesha B, head of the department of electrical and electronics engineering, and Prof Ganesh M S, coordinator for the events, were also present on the occasion. Prof C Bheema Shastry proposed the vote of thanks. The chief guest delivered a talk on 'Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation'. The formal function was followed by a quiz for the students, along with an exhibition of project models related to renewable energy sources and a Walkathon.
