Mangaluru Jan 2: As a part of Aloysius Fiesta 2K24 Ethnic day at St Aloysius ITI was held on January 21st, 2025 at 10 am in the college premises.
Seetharam Kumar Kateel - Yakshagana artist, Hanumagiri Mela was the chief guest for the programme. Arvin D’Souza - production line leader, England; Ashwin Pinto - logistics coordinator - Dubai, United Arab Emirates & alumni of SAITI; Samith Darren Mendonsa - HVAC technician – carrier company, Dubai & Alumni of SAITI were the guests of honour for the programme. Fr John Dsouza S J - director was the president for the programme. Roshan D’Souza - principal; Alwyn Menezes - vice principal; Noel Lobo & Wilson N - training officers; Umesh JA & Vanditha Rego - conveners of the programme; Darshan S - president, student council; Prajith B - cultural secretary were present for the programme.
The prayer song was sung by fashion designing 1st year students.
A chende performance was performed by the students. The cultural secretary - Prajith B, escorted the dignitaries to the dais.
Umesh J A - convener of the programme welcomed the gathering.
The inauguration was done by the chief guest by opening the ribbon tied to the ethnic day board.
The chief guest addressed the gathering by saying that “School is a field of knowledge. Today, I have reached this position because of the primary school teacher I studied at. It is most appropriate for the parents of the students to participate in this program. With the blessings of my parents and teachers, I have received many awards. Therefore, students should respect their parents and the school they studied at and also become good citizens in the society. We must remember the sacrifice of our parents. Do yakshagana and chende, it is also a yogasana.”
The chief guest was felicitated.
In his presidential address, Fr John D’Souza SJ said that, “The chief guest has been the best among the poor. All the students have different talents. Some are talented in learning and some are talented in participating in various competitions. So today is a good platform for the students to showcase their talents. Today, the old students of our institution have come as guests for this program. Similarly, the current students, in future, should also come as chief guests for the programmes of this institution.”
Prajith B, cultural secretary proposed the vote of thanks.
Inter-trade variety competition was held for the students.
Roopashree Vorkady and Harshith were the judges for the competition.
The programme was compered by Viraj Shetty, student of MMV 2nd year.
Results of variety competition are as follows
1st prize: AC Technician Batch 2 - Mentor for the team Alwyn Lobo
2nd prize: Fashion Designing 2nd year - Mentor for the team Vanditha Rego
3rd prize: MMV 2nd year - mentor for the team Naveen.
