Udupi: Woman Loses Rs 3 lac Worth Ornaments at Sister’s Marriage

Udupi, Jan 7: A woman lost gold and diamond ornaments worth three lac rupees, while attending a marriage function here on Friday January 6.

In a complaint filed with the policemen, Vasundhara Kadekar said that the ornaments had been stolen when she was washing her hands after lunch. The marriage of Vasundhara’s sister had been organized at Govinda Kalyana Mantap here. Vasundhara, who stays in Keshavapura in Hubli, had come to the town to take part in her sister’s marriage, it is learnt.

Vasundhara said that she saw an unidentified women approaching her vanity bag when she was washing her hands, and that the woman had vanished immediately thereafter. She said that she checked her vanity bag thereafter, to find that her ornaments had been stolen.
