Mangalore: Pillion Rider Dies in Bike-Car Collision

Mangalore, Jan 9: After a motor bike collided with a car at Gerukatte in Mulky on Kinnigoli Road, one of the injured persons succumbed. The deceased has been identified as Sheikh Imran (21) from K S Rao Nagar in Mulky.

The accident occurred late night on Saturday January 7. The motor bike which was driven by Sadiq hit a car that was coming from the direction of Moodbidri. The motor bike had two pillion riders, Sheikh Imran and Mohammed Akram. All the three got thrown onto the road because of the severity of the collision, and suffered serious injuries. Sheikh Imran breathed his last during his transportation for treatment, and was declared brought dead on being shifted to a hospital. The other two injured are being treated at a hospital.

Francis D’Souza from Ferry Road Hejmady, and his son, Johnson, who were travelling in the car, also sustained injuries. They too got admitted into a hospital.

A case in this connection was registered in Mulky police station. Investigation has been taken up.
