Bijapur: Hoisting of Pakistani Flag – Another Accused Arrested

Daijiworld Media Network – Bijapur (SP)

Bijapur, Jan 9: The policemen succeeded in arresting Arunkumar Shashidhar Vaghmore (19), relating to the incident in which Pakistani flag was hoisted in the premises of taluk office at Sindhagi in the district recently. He was handed over by police inspector, M Chidambar, to deputy superintendent of police, M Mutturaj, who is the investigating officer for the case.

The policemen had been on the lookout for Vaghmore since the last some days. He had evaded arrest by fleeing the town, but it is learnt the policemen went to Gadag and arrested him from there, after being tipped off  about his presence there.

It is learnt that Arunkumar belongs to a very poor family, and his two sisters were married out of donations pooled by the members of his community. After his father died last year out of liver problems, his mother ekes out a living by bringing things from market and selling them to needy persons. The youth, who was born in Manvi in Raichur district, completed his primary education there, before continuing his high school and PU education in Sindhagi.

It is gathered that he is the cousin of Parashuram Vaghmore, already arrested in the case earlier. Arunkumar’s uncle, Namadev Kamble, expressed consternation at the fact that the boy, who was expected to support his family, brought disrepute to his community by taking part in an act of treason under the influence of bad company.
