Kundapur: Decomposed Corpses of Four Monkeys Found in Water Tank

Daijiworld Media Network – Kundapur (SP)

Kundapur, Jan 10: The villagers expressed resentment at the callous attitude of Siddapur gram panchayat employees in the taluk manning water distribution system, after four decomposed corpses of monkeys were recovered from the public water tank used for drinking purposes.

The corpses were found in the water tank located by the side of state highway near Mahamaya Hall. Water from this particular tank is supplied to about 60 families in Maljaddu,  Kasanakatte, Agali etc within Sidapur gram panchayat. Perhaps the monkeys had gone into the tank searching for water, but had fallen into it, and unable to come out. As the people managing water supply pumped water into the tank, they died and their bodies got decomposed in course of time.

On Sunday, the people who opened the taps got foul smelling water. As the water also contained decomposed animal flesh, they verified the tank, and found bodies of four monkeys in the it.
