Bantwal: Bus Knocks Down Pedestrian

Bantwal, Jan 13: A pedestrian was killed after a bus knocked him down on Budoli near Mani in the taluk on the night of Thursday January 12. The deceased has been identified as Guruprasad, son of Bomanna Shetty, a resident of Antara village near here.

Guruprasad was crossing national highway at Budoli after getting down from a bus, when a Volvo bus proceeding towards Mangalore from Bangalore hit him. He suffered grave injuries in the accident, and breathed his last while being shifted to a hospital.

Guruprasad was unmarried. He is survived by parents and a brother. His father was a bus operator, and Guruprasad used to look after a garage his father owns at at B C Road.

A case was registered at Vittal police station in this connection.
