Daijiworld Media Network—Moodbidri (RD)

Moodbidri, Jan 14: The residents of Ankasale, near here, urged Dakshina Kannada DC Dr Chennappa Gowda to take early action against people with vested interests who are engaged in reclaiming the centuries old nature pond, which lies in their neighbourhood irrigating many hectares of farmland.

The nature pond has been recharging the ground water level for generations together. A temple located near the nature pond has been worshiped by people for centuries.

The residents of Ankasale village allege that vested interests are trying to fully reclaim the nature pond by unloading truckloads of earth during the day and night.
