Media Release

Mangaluru, Feb 25: The department of PG journalism and mass communication at St Aloysius (Deemed to be University), in collaboration with Swarnaprana Wellbeing Institute, Mangaluru, is organizing a guest talk on "Empowering Sustainable Menstrual Care." The event will take place on February 25 at 2 PM at Canara High School, Dongerkery, Mangaluru.

The session aims to highlight the importance of adopting sustainable menstrual care practices for a healthier future. With growing environmental concerns, eco-friendly alternatives to disposable menstrual products, such as menstrual cups, reusable cloth pads, and period underwear, are gaining popularity. These options not only reduce waste but also offer long-term cost savings and health benefits.

The resource person for the session is Shilpa Shastry, managing partner at Swarnaprana Wellbeing Institute, Mangaluru. She is a health coach, educator, and advocate for reusable menstrual hygiene products.
