Miltenyi Biotec launches India’s First Cell, Gene Therapy Centre in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, Feb 25: Miltenyi Biotec, a global leader in cell and gene therapy solutions, has inaugurated India’s first dedicated Cell and Gene Therapy Centre of Excellence the Miltenyi Innovation and Technology Centre (MITC) in Hyderabad’s Genome Valley.

Spanning 1,800 square meters, MITC aims to drive biomedical innovation by integrating cutting-edge technologies, expertise, and best practices to combat diseases like cancer. The centre will also serve as a hub for collaboration, hosting seminars and workshops on immunology, stem cell biology, and cancer research.

Dr Kathrin Misera-Lang, Consul General (Interim) of Germany, highlighted that this advanced facility will significantly contribute to cell and gene therapy advancements, improving healthcare outcomes and strengthening India’s position in the life sciences sector.

Dr Toon Overstijns, Managing Director of Miltenyi Biomedicine, called MITC a game-changer in accelerating breakthroughs in cell and gene therapies. Dr Boris Stoffel, chief commercial officer of Miltenyi Biotec, emphasized that the centre will support researchers, physicians, and industry leaders in developing transformative therapies for diseases with limited treatment options.

With MITC, Miltenyi Biotec aims to bridge the gap between research and clinical applications, fostering innovation and collaboration to shape the future of precision medicine in India.
